Reflecting on Child Development

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." ~ Benjamin Franklin
The above quote from Ben Franklin speaks to me as an educator because it reiterates the

importance of hands-on learning experiences. Children learn best when they are able to be a part of the activity.

“Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning…They have to play with what they know to be true in order to find out more, and then they can use what they learn in new forms of play.” ~ Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood)

“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.” ~ Friedrich Froebel (founder of the concept of kindergarten)

  1. Clara,
I love each of the poems yo've shared. As I read the poem by Fred Rogers, it reminded me of quality time I spent with my children when they were younger. We also enjoyed Mr. Roger's Neighborhood.

    Also,
I've enjoyed reading your posts and sharing resources. I look forward to future classes and hopefully we will share thoughts in discussion or posting again.

    Best Wishes and Warmest Regards,
    Susana O'Brien
